Catrin Perih was born and raised in Wales. At about the age of 11 she decided she wanted to be an artist. Art was her favorite subject in school and the art teacher was, of course, her favorite teacher. She received her B.A. (Hons) in Art Education from the University of Wales. For many years she worked in the field of museum education, eventually becoming Director of Education at the South Street Seaport Museum in lower Manhattan. For the past 9 years she has been working as an art educator, developing and teaching programs for children. She also teaches STEAM programming in schools throughout Westchester and runs an online vintage retail business. Catrin is a practicing artist who paints in acrylic and watercolor, drawing inspiration from her childhood in Wales and the experiences of being an immigrant. She is very happy to be a part of One River School, to be able to share her love of art with students and foster their creativity. Catrin loves the fact that there is a place where people can come to learn and experiment in art making and hopes to have as much of an impact on her students as her art teacher did years ago.
