DIGITAL ART SHUFFLE ™ PLUS: Teens (Grades 6-12)
Designed for advanced teen digital artists who want a rigorous digital experience, challenging projects and a longer studio practice time. Students complete ambitious digital works while focusing on projects that help them develop both technical and conceptual skills. One River School’s innovative curriculum focuses on todays’ most important artists, designers and animators. Students must have studied in Digital Art Shuffle for 9+ months or have a foundational understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Animate prior to joining this class.

PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT: Pre-College (Grades 9-12)
One River School has developed a unique Portfolio Development Program for motivated teens who are preparing a body of work for college admission. Based on years of research, our program allows teen students to demonstrate an approach to art making that is investigative, ambitious and individualized.
- Experienced educators help students analyze and evaluate their artwork through discussions, critiques and exercises
- Students learn how best to establish a competent portfolio, artist statement, and how to articulate the personal motivation behind their art
- Each student will be guided to establish a unique & comprehensive body of work which demonstrates experimentation with materials and ideas

Grades 6-12 Classes
DIGITAL ART FOCUS®: Manga & Cartooning (Teens – Grades 6-12)
Designed for digital art students who love Manga or Comics! Students in this class will be taught how to take their digital artistry & skills further by learning the foundations of panel based Storytelling and illustrative Rendering techniques, based within two major paradigms: Manga & Cartooning. Students of this course will complete projects which explore the differences and similarities between the two stylizations and develop skills which support both.
- Compelling projects explore: Manga/Comic Layouts, Cell/Soft Shading, Stylized Proportions, Perspective Grids, Visual Effects, and more.
- Teacher led demonstrations provide technical instruction and in depth guidance on rendering techniques such as: shading, highlighting & texture. Along with methods of stylizations for both western or eastern character designs.
- Projects will use the program Adobe Photoshop and class is open to any student regardless of ability. Welcome to all!

Aspiring animators can join this class for a journey into animation techniques, character development and storytelling. Students will explore figure motion, lip syncing, frame-by-frame and tweening as they take their animation skills to the next level. Students must demonstrate experience using Adobe Animate or have previously studied in One River School’s core digital program, Digital Art Shuffle.

Designed for teen students who want to focus on mastering technical skills in the drawing medium. Students will explore the elements and principles of art and design through fun and engaging drawing projects.

- Work with a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, oil / chalk pastel, pen and ink
- Teacher led demonstrations help students master the principles of line, tone, light, texture, composition, spatial depth and perspective

Students will draw inspiration from the world's best Mangaka and Animation studios to create unique works of art. This class uses manga/anime as a way to explore fine art techniques to advance students' skills in drawing, painting & sculpture. Students can expect to explore figure proportions, gesture drawings, facial expressions, character design, and rendering techniques.
- Compelling projects explore the principles of art and design, through Japanese art & animation
- Teacher-led demonstrations provide students with technical instruction in the use of watercolor, pen & ink, illustration markers, and sculptural materials.
